Dermal Pedicle Reconstruction Photos

This is a 32 year old female with history of right breast cancer diagnosed in early 2020. She first completed neoadjuvant chemotherapy and then underwent bilateral dermal pedicle nipple sparing mastectomies and tissue expander placement in August 2020. Four months later, she underwent bilateral tissue expander removal and DIEP flap breast reconstruction. She did not have any revision surgeries.


 

This is a 68 year old female with history of BRCA1 gene mutation who underwent bilateral prophylactic dermal pedicle nipple sparing mastectomies and tissue expander placement in January 2020. She then underwent bilateral tissue expander removal and DIEP flap breast reconstruction in June and one revision surgery in September.


This is a 45 year old female with a history of left breast cancer diagnosed in December 2019. After completing chemotherapy, she underwent bilateral mastectomies with dermal pedicle nipple sparing approach and tissue expander placement followed by tissue expander removal and DIEP flap breast reconstruction 5 months later.


This is a 39 year old female who was diagnosed with left breast cancer in early 2020. She completed neoadjuvant chemotherapy and then underwent bilateral nipple sparing mastectomies with dermal pedicle and immediate DIEP flap breast reconstruction; 3 months later she had one revision surgery.


This is a 44 year old Female with history of left breast invasive ductal carcinoma who underwent bilateral non-nipple sparing dermal pedicle mastectomies and tissue expander placement in June 2020. She subsequently underwent tissue expander removal and DIEP flap breast reconstruction in September 2020.


This is a 40 year old female who was diagnosed with left breast cancer. She had D cup size breasts with grade II ptosis and wished to maintain her cup size and have more lifted breasts after reconstruction. She underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies using a dermal pedicle approach with tissue expander placement. The margin behind her left nipple was positive.  She underwent bilateral tissue expander removal with DIEP flap reconstruction including the removal of the left nipple positive margin, and removal of the right nipple for symmetry.


This is a 28 year old female with a strong family history of breast cancer and BRCA1 genetic mutation. She had C cup size breasts with grade I ptosis and wished to have slightly smaller and lifted breasts after reconstruction. She underwent bilateral prophylactic nipple-sparing mastectomies using a dermal pedicle approach with tissue expander, and later underwent tissue expander removal with placement of smooth, round, cohesive gel silicone implants.


This is a 46 year old female who was diagnosed with right breast cancer. She had G cup size breasts with grade III ptosis, and wished to have much smaller breasts after reconstruction. She underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies using a dermal pedicle approach with immediate DIEP flaps. She later underwent one revision surgery.


This is a 41 year old female who was diagnosed with left breast cancer. She had C cup size breasts with grade 2 ptosis, and she wished to maintain her breast size but be more lifted if possible. She underwent bilateral nipple-sparing mastectomies using a dermal pedicle approach with tissue expander placement. She is awaiting her final reconstruction, using either with an autologous or an implant based technique.
